oh boy
some days. some days are just no good. no matter how much good stuff happens that day... it's still no good. just no good.
well. it's best not to dwell on the guilt of taking a day off. even if that is a day off from all the things you promised yourself. well. oh well.
good bye cruel world. im having a vacation tonight. i'll be back shortly. refreshed.
best,

sorry brian eno....
started working on some generative dubstep today...
processing and ableton.. together at last. thanks to rwmidi!
im sending noteOn/noteOff messages to the drum rack (or something... its getting late, im tired). the drum machine? the drum... ah fuck it.
yep, and then im sending controller messages to the effects...
i haven't figured out a way to send noteOn messages to two devices at once... but really i was too scared to try anything.
anyways, this is what i made

dear diary,
i won today. in a very personal way i won an enormous internal battle. today i conquered demons and bounded over molehills turned mountains. i was spiderman, superman and elvis combined. no no, spiderman, superman and kurt cobain combined. i won. i won today.

"white people call him curtis"
wow, it's been a long time..
get this:
"don't you call him by his name,
white people call him curtis."
and check this label:
(i havent yet but i read the about section and it seemed worthy of a post)
i think i might send my demo there when i've got more tracks. I'm doing rjdj scenes (generative music affected by sensors/interface in the ipod touch/iphone made in pure data), mostly ambient and downtempo.
i think i'll try and play as many open mics while im in europe (i've played one so far and it went well... it was in penryn in cornwall/uk)
i'll post examples of the sounds when i start recording.. haha! in the mean time, enjoy saul and trent (niggy tardust), give it more than one chance, its fucking sweet. i promise.
EDIT:
I just looked into that label a bit more and i dont think I'll be sending my demo there... hahah it's really hi profile i think... oh well, maybe it's worth a shot?

wow. / fruity nostalgia
so, i don't understand how someone could ever say that fruity loops is a shitty program for making music when people like this guy (vaetxh) use it to make music like this.
fucking incredible.
plus, spor uses it. and so does this guy (access to arasaka). and they're all so good!
too bad it doesn't run on mac os. i switched to logic recently and am frustrated/nostalgic. oh well, im sure it will get better once im better at using it. and it will definitely change my style a bit. which is good. and after all, i shouldn't complain, it's not the tools, its what you do with them.. right?
i guess i gotta find some people who are inspiring that use logic...
